The University of Florence awarded an honorary degree to Orhan Pamuk
The University of Florence has recently awarded an honorary degree in Literary Studies and International Cultures to Orhan Pamuk. The title was conferred on Wednesday, May 13. Pamuk accepted the degree in a ceremony that took place at the University of Florence’s Aula Magna conference room. Several important personalities were present at the event including University Dean Augusto Marinelli and the Faculty of Letters and Philosophy president, Franca Pecchioli. The laudation was read by Ayse Saracgil, docent of Turkish Language and Literature.
